Deepak Tijori has filed a complaint at Bangur Nagar Police Station, alleging he was cheated of Rs. 2.5 lakhs in a film funding deal.
Tijori, active in Hindi cinema since the 1990s was searching for investors for his next film, Tom Dick and Mary, which he scripted in December 2024 and plans to make on a Rs. 25 crore budget.
According to the complaint filed on January 13th 2026, a woman named Kavita Shibag Kapoor approached him at his Goregaon home in February 2025, claiming strong connections with T-Series and the Zee Network.
She later introduced him to Fauzia RC, who promised to arrange a Letter of Interest from Zee Network to attract investors. They allegedly asked for Rs. 2.5 lakhs as a processing fee, assuring quick results.
Tijori transferred the money after signing an MoU, but no letter was provided and the accused stopped responding. He later learned that a person introduced as a Zee Network official was fake. An FIR has been filed for cheating and criminal conspiracy.
